Municipalities: party-list votes from GERDA, with postal votes allocated to municipalities. In the 20 largest cities the map shows postal voting districts: each one combines its in-person precincts with its postal ballots, so the result is complete.
Where a city does not publish which precincts belong to which postal district, the map uses the smallest areas with complete results instead: Hamburg (neighbourhoods), Bremen (neighbourhoods), Bonn (electoral wards), Bielefeld (electoral wards), Munich (boroughs), Dresden (neighbourhoods).
Very small municipalities counted jointly with neighbours show the result of their administrative association (Amt or Verbandsgemeinde). Darker shading means a higher vote share for the leading party.
